At the bustling itsu - Heathrow, located in Terminal 5, travelers can savor healthy and delicious Japanese-inspired meals that stand out even in the fast-paced airport environment. Many reviewers rave about the quality ingredients, with dishes like the Double Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl and Veggie Gyoza Noodle Bowl often highlighted for their homemade vibe. As noted by I Am Antman (TonyK), it’s among the best meals you’ll find at Heathrow, particularly for those craving comfort food.
The plant-based options also earn high praise, especially from The Vegan Traveller, who emphasizes the extensive vegan menu featuring delightful choices like vegan sushi and hot chocolate bao buns. This focus on inclusivity ensures that everyone can find something appealing, from meat lovers to vegans alike.
Patrons enjoy the speed of service at itsu—even during busy airport hours, allowing for a quick but satisfying meal before boarding. However, some comments point out the slightly steep prices and limited seating, which can detract from the experience. Still, as Denis V notes, for a nutritious, flavorful meal on the go, itsu - Heathrow is undoubtedly a reliable option worth exploring.

Reviews for itsu - Heathrow
Review highlights
Based on 189 reviewsitsu - Heathrow is widely praised for its fresh, high-quality Japanese and Asian-inspired dishes, making it a popular choice for health-conscious travelers seeking quick, flavorful meals. The restaurant offers a diverse menu that caters well to vegans and vegetarians, with plant-based options such as vegan sushi and hot vegetable dishes frequently highlighted. While pricing is considered somewhat premium for airport dining, the efficient service and speedy order fulfillment help maintain customer satisfaction. Some feedback notes limited seating and the airport's hectic atmosphere, which can detract from the overall dining experience, but the consistent food quality and variety generally outweigh these drawbacks for travelers in Terminal 5.
The food was fantastic! It's likely the best home-cooked style meal you'll find at London Heathrow. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl of teriyaki chicken, brown rice, and vegetables. The ingredients were all high-quality, making the meal even more satisfying. Pricing might just be a bit steep…But it’s good food.
Great place to come if you’re vegan/plant based. They have so many options available including a vegan sushi platter, miso soup, hot vegetable gyoza and hot chocolate bao buns! absolutely amazing! Can’t recommend this place enough. One of the best places to come if you’re vegan at LHR. You won’t be disappointed and yes we went back to order more chocolate bao buns.
Great food if you’re on the go in terminal 5. I recommend for every meal of the day. Will not disappoint
The queues for most food outlets was quite long but true the sprite of Itsu, the food came really quickly without any compromise on content or flavour As a vegan there is enough choice because there a meat, veggie and vegan version of each dish. Although space was limited, I managed to find a perch and tucked into my food. I chose the ‘Veggie Gyoza Noodle Bowl’ which is a vegan option. The noodle bowl was crammed full of big fat juicy noodles, veggies and seeds with plenty of large dumplings. Wether you preference is to eat with chopsticks, fork, spoon or Itay’s Spork, it’s always best to slurp the delicious, rich broth straight from the bowl when the food has been eaten. It left a lovely lingering flavour in my mouth which I can still taste and hour later as sit on the aircraft typing this up. I also had the ‘Jasmine Tea’ which liked but for those that don’t like a strong floral flavour, avoid it as it’s strong. For those that do, it’s worth it.
Can't pay by cash Itsu at Heathrow offers a solid balance of quality and price, making it a convenient option for travelers looking for fresh, healthy meals. The sushi and hot dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, staying true to the brand’s reputation. However, the airport setting somewhat detracts from the experience, as the atmosphere feels rushed and lacks the cozy ambiance of standalone locations. Despite this, for a quick and nutritious meal before a flight, Itsu remains a reliable choice.
I ordered a chicken noodle bowl and miso soup, and I really liked it. I paid around £13 and was satisfied. It was tasty and filling. I definitely recommend it if you enjoy this type of cuisine.
Lovely healthy hot light meals! Will definitely be back again!
